Job description
Afterschool Teacher Position
Trevor Day School is seeking afterschool teachers for our preschool through grade 5 students, starting in the fall of 2026. Children in the program attend different specialized classes. Those who are not registered for classes stay with the afterschool teachers. They complete homework, engage in free play, or join an organized group activity. The program runs from 2:30 to 5:45 pm, Monday through Friday.
Job Responsibilities
Supervise a large group of children with other afterschool teachers.
Oversee daily routines, including attendance, snacks, and dismissal.
Develop and lead activities that engage children.
Assist with specialized classes as needed: dance, sports, rollerblading, cooking, etc.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Previous experience working with children at the early childhood and/or elementary level.
Strong verbal communication skills.

Additional Opportunities

Afterschool teachers can work at various evening events during the year, providing childcare.

The pay for this position is $33 per hour. When extending an employment offer, Trevor Day School bases the salary on several factors, including (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education, training, key skills, and peer salary equity.
