Graphic Design Teacher's AideReports to Campus PrincipalPay Grade: A04ADays: 187Supervises:Primary PurposeTo perform assigned tasks and assist the teacher and students in carrying out the daily activities of the school.QualificationsRequired Experience: Some experience working with secondary students; skills to manage student behavior and must have the ability to communicate effectively, work with others as a team, organize and maintain reports, manage time and resources effectively and efficiently.Education/Certification:Ability to meet the No Child Left Behind requirementsAssociate's Degree or 48 semester hours, or Academic AssessmentHigh school diploma or its equivalentAbility to maintain an effective working relationship with administrators, teachers, students, and parents, possess good organizational skillsMajor Responsibilities and DutiesTo fulfill the responsibilities of this position the duties shall include, but not be limited to the following:Assisting in the implementation of the daily program under the direction of the CTE teacherAssisting in planning and preparing the learning environmentSetting up print shop/screen shop and preparing needed materials and suppliesCutting and prepping materials, cutting and fabricating vinyl letteringRunning a large format digital printer and applying prints to a variety of substratesPrinting and finishing of bannersAssist in running the manual screen press, reclaiming, coating and shooting screensSetting up registration on screensSupervising the classroom when the teacher is out of the roomAssisting the teacher in any other appropriate waysMaintaining professional attitudes and loyalty to the CTE programTreating all children with dignity and respectAttending all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferencesParticipating in professional workshops that work for the improvement of Career and Technical EducationMaintaining confidentiality about children, their families, and other employees outside the schoolWorking ConditionsMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress.
