Aircraft PainterTEL Staffing is hiring an Aircraft Painter to join our team in Fairhope, AL. One year of Aircraft Painting experience required.Position Summary: To perform the cleaning, welding, sheet metal, and painting of engines, and components. This position may work with hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals, as well as products to perform required tasks. This position is considered safety-sensitive in accordance with DOT and FAA regulations and as such, subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA's regulations.Essential Functions: (Must be able to perform these functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation).Cleans aviation parts with PRF680(mineral spirit), glass and plastic beadPrepares for painting by cleaning, stripping, sanding, or chemically treating if neededPreps parts (clean, tape, aluminum prep, alodine) for paintingCures specific parts using oven as necessaryCleans prep and paint area before, after, and during operationsAdequately cleans paint guns and paint equipment after each useMaintains a clean workstation free from Foreign Object and or Debris (FOD), ensures tooling is properly storedMaintains a clean/safe workspace free from spills or obstructions which may lead to harmProperly disposes of excess materials throughout the operationWorks in accordance with applicable FAR's, bulletins, maintenance manuals and acceptable practicesMust be able to perform duties with little or no supervisionWorks to production schedule as directed by manager/leadMust read routing tags/sheets/traveler and follow directivesTravels as requiredConfers with manager/lead to recommend changes such as: equipment utilization, production methods and procedures to increase efficiency of department and promote improvementAttends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely mannerWorks when scheduled and complies with company attendance policyWorks overtime as neededObserves and practices all safety procedures and personal policies (e.g. Safety-glasses, ear plugs, face shields etc.)Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: (These are required to enable job holder to perform the essential functions of the job).Must be able to read and interpret SDS and Technical Data Sheets to safely mix paints in accordance with specificationsMust be able to use scales for mixing ratiosMust be able to maintain an effective working relationship with, and among co-workers and supervisors.Must be able to work with little or no supervision and to take initiativeMust be able to use applied knowledge to formulate positive solutions to problem situationsMust be able to apply common senseMust be able to effectively read, write and communicate in EnglishMust be proficient in specific company software and Microsoft Office Word and ExcelMust be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using fractions and decimals; compute percentages, ratios, rates and interpret graphsMust be able to comply with OSHA requirements and standards to properly wear all applicable PPEMust be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and more, with assistance occasionallyMust be able to see within normal range of vision with or without corrective lensesMust be able to hear running machineryMust be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers repetitivelyMust have exceptional eye-hand coordinationMust regularly be able to reach overheadMust regularly be able to squat, bend, twist and standMust be able to walk around regularly using steps occasionallyAbility to provide verifications of US citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR/EAR restrictionsMarginal Functions: (Duties that are likely to be assigned to this person, unless he / she proves unable to perform them after receiving training and / or accommodations that the company judges appropriate).Other duties as assigned.Work Conditions: Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. Noise is generally loud.Experience and Education Requirements:High School Diploma or GED required.One (1) year of aircraft painting experience is required.Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.Must pass a criminal background check and DOT pre-employment drug screen and comply with all FAA regulations.
