Cardiac Surgery NP/PA and Step-Down opening Äì Hartford, CT Position Details FT, permanent position Inpatient cardiac surgery position Open to Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners Either nights (preferred) or day/night rotating 3 x 13-hour night shifts Permanent night positions available Premium night and weekend differentials offered No call Practice locations include ICU, step-down, and floor settings Patient population includes advanced cardiac surgery cases Responsibilities include: Preoperative and postoperative management of cardiac surgery patients Bedside procedures including central venous lines, arterial lines, and intra-aortic balloon pump removal Management of patients undergoing advanced therapies such as: Heart transplantation ECMO Mechanical circulatory support Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) Comprehensive patient assessments and individualized care planning Multidisciplinary collaboration to support optimal patient outcomes Care transitions between ICU, step-down, and floor settings Patient and family education throughout the surgical and recovery process EMR: Epic Required Qualifications & Experience Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Eligible for Connecticut licensure 1+ year of experience in cardiac surgery, critical care, or surgical settings preferred Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills Commitment to team-based, patient-centered care Benefits Details Market-leading compensation Premium shift differentials Comprehensive benefits package Generous paid time off Paid CME time plus CME allowance Reimbursement for professional licenses and dues Enhanced tuition assistance and higher education partnerships Voluntary benefits including: Student loan assistance programs Home, auto, and renters insurance Identity theft protection Legal services Pet insurance Employee discount programs Colleague assistance resources for work-life support Family care benefits including emergency backup care for children, adults, and pets Community Details Located in Hartford, Connecticut Centrally positioned with easy access to Boston and New York City Affordable cost of living compared to other Northeast metros Rich history, arts, and dining scene Access to outdoor recreation, parks, and riverfront activities
