Locums Cardiology Nurse Practitioner Mechanicsville, VA (Active VA License Required) Why This Role Ongoing weekday inpatient coverage
Work alongside an Interventional Cardiologist
Approximately 10 Äì15 patients per day
Epic EMR
Assignment Details Start Date: September 8, 2026
Schedule: Monday ÄìFriday, 7:30 a.m. Äì4:30 p.m.
Setting: 100% inpatient
Call: Rotating beeper and phone call, including weekends
Call Ratio: Approximately 1:3 to 1:4
Average Callback: Approximately two hours
Patient Population: Adult and geriatric
Daily Volume: Approximately 10 Äì15 or more patients, depending on hospital volume
EMR: Epic
Credentialing: As soon as possible
Temporary Privileges: Available
Travel: Airfare, lodging, and mileage reimbursement approved
Requirements Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner
Active and unrestricted Virginia NP license
Current ACLS and BLS
Active DEA
More than two years of relevant Cardiology or comparable inpatient experience
Ability to work independently within a collaborative Cardiology team
Clean background with no malpractice, licensing, or disciplinary issues
Clinical Details Manage new inpatient Cardiology patients and follow-up visits
Conduct daily rounds and complete clinical documentation
Coordinate care with an Interventional Cardiologist and hospital teams
Develop and support discharge plans
Communicate with patients, families, and members of the care team
No teaching or leadership responsibilities
