Job Description
Operating Room Technologist
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Technologist to join our dynamic surgical team. The ideal candidate will support surgical procedures by providing assistance to healthcare professionals while ensuring that the operating room environment is well-prepared and maintained.
Job Details
Unit Type: Operating Room (OR)
Shift Length: 10 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience Required: 1 year of relevant experience preferred, first-time travelers are welcome
Required Certifications: BLS Certification; registration with Washington State is mandatory
Responsibilities Assist with a variety of surgical procedures, including GYN, Urology, Vascular, Plastic, Orthopedic, Neuro, Cardiovascular, Thoracic, General Surgery, and more.
Prepare and maintain sterile environments for surgeries and ensure the availability of necessary surgical instruments.
Scrub in and support surgical teams during complex cases, including Da Vinci Xi robotic surgeries.
Participate in team meetings and in-services to enhance surgical practices.
Be available for on-call duties as scheduled, with a call response time of 30 minutes.
Schedule Shifts: 4 days of 10-hour shifts, variable days (Monday to Friday) with start times at 6:30 AM, 9:00 AM, or 11:00 AM.
Weeknight call and weekend 24-hour call are part of the schedule, managed by the department.
Qualifications 1 year of experience as an Operating Room Technologist preferred.
Experience with ENT surgeries including FESS (sinus), septoplasty, cochlear implants, tympanoplasty, laryngoscopy, and soft tissue procedures is required.
Da Vinci XI surgical experience is essential for specific procedures.
Must be a graduate of an accredited school.
Orientation and Training
New hires will undergo a comprehensive orientation that includes training onsite, requiring personal earphones for online sessions during the first week.
