Respiratory Therapist
Location: Fort Walton Beach, FL Job Type: Full-Time Shift Options:
Days (Rotating Weekends)
Nights (Rotating Weekends)
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join a collaborative healthcare team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. This opportunity is open to experienced professionals as well as new graduates who are eager to learn and grow in a supportive environment.
The Respiratory Therapist will provide high-quality respiratory care, perform diagnostic testing, administer therapeutic treatments, and manage patients requiring invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive respiratory patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate respiratory conditions and treatment effectiveness.
Administer respiratory therapies including: Oxygen therapy
Aerosolized medications
Chest physiotherapy
Assist with placement and management of artificial airways.
Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
Monitor patient response to therapy and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
Assist in transporting ventilator-dependent patients safely.
Respond to emergency situations and provide airway management during resuscitation efforts.
Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes.
Qualifications
Associate Degree or Certificate in Respiratory Therapy.
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential accepted.
Active Florida Respiratory Therapist License (or eligibility to obtain).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 90 days of hire.
