Job Description
Social Worker for Psychiatric Services
Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our Psychiatric Services Inpatient Unit. This role is crucial in providing support and interventions for patients experiencing mental health crises.
Responsibilities
Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans for patients within the inpatient unit.
Provide crisis intervention and support to patients and their families.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate aftercare resources for patients.
Document patient progress and interventions in accordance with organizational policies.
Qualifications Master of Social Work (MSW) degree required.
Current licensure in the State of Vermont as an Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) prior to the start date.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
Nationally recognized de-escalation certification is required.
Minimum of two years of social work experience, specifically in medical crisis intervention.
Preferred experience of 2-5 years in a healthcare setting.
Experience with Cerner EMR technology is preferred.
Additional Information
Orientation for new hires is conducted on a biweekly basis. Please note that requests for specific schedules are subject to manager approval. Candidates are encouraged to have their own vehicles, as public transportation is not readily accessible in the area.
