Job Description
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for performing cardio-pulmonary evaluations, respiratory care, life support, and patient education for individuals, families, and the public. This role involves working with both inpatients and outpatients of all ages who have deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system, following established protocols or physician prescriptions.
Key Responsibilities
Perform cardio-pulmonary evaluations and assessments.
Administer respiratory care and life support as prescribed.
Educate patients, families, and the community about respiratory health.
Provide respiratory care across all areas of the hospital.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications Current New York State License as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.
Must possess NRP, BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications.
Associate's degree from an accredited respiratory care program.
Proficiency in critical care settings.
Experience in Labor and Delivery/Neonatal Resuscitation is required.
Additional Requirements Must have proven experience using EPIC software.
Compliance with onboarding training from recognized organizations is required, effective January 1, 2024.
COVID vaccinations are encouraged but not mandatory.
