Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Shift Information Days
Minimum Experience Required 3 Years
Certifications/Requirements General Certifications: BLS/BCLS Respiratory Certifications: RRT
Job Responsibilities Patient Assessment Conduct interviews and examine patients, perform bedside checks, and evaluate lung capacity. Treatment Administration Administer aerosolized medications, perform chest physiotherapy, and maintain airways. Ventilator Management Set up, monitor, and manage artificial ventilation for patients in intensive care or those needing life support. Emergency Response Provide emergency care, including intubation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as part of rapid response teams. Diagnostic Testing Conduct and interpret blood gas analysis and pulmonary function tests to measure oxygen/carbon dioxide levels and lung volume. Patient Education Instruct patients and families on managing chronic lung conditions and utilizing home medical equipment.
