Job description

Sterile Processing TechnicianWe are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. This position is a temporary to permanent opportunity with rotating shifts scheduled from 15:00 to 23:30.ResponsibilitiesPerform sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping of surgical instruments and supplies.Maintain cleanliness and organization in the sterile processing area.Monitor and ensure compliance with established protocols and standards.Collaborate with clinical staff to meet the varying needs of the facility.Participate in holiday rotation and be available for weekend shifts as required.Be prepared to float to sister facilities when necessary to support operational needs.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing.Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center is required.Hands-on experience with sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping of surgical instruments.Preferred experience with a variety of surgical specialties, including neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedic, transplant, and GYN cases.National certifications such as CBSPD and/or HSPA are required.Additional InformationLocal candidates within a 60-mile radius are welcome to apply on a case-by-case basis.All requests for time off (RTO) must be provided at the time of submission, with no changes permitted after the contract is signed.Expected to work holidays if not specifically requested in the RTO.Placement in inclement weather response teams may be required.Work EnvironmentThis position is located in a Level I Trauma Center and teaching facility. The total staffed beds are 820, and the environment supports ongoing education and professional growth.ParkingParking is available for staff during nights and weekends with a one-time payment for a parking pass.Hurricane Season AwarenessPlease note that during hurricane season, all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams. This period runs from June through November, with peak activity typically occurring in August and September.
