Job description
Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)The Sterile Processing Technician plays a vital role in the surgical services team by ensuring that all surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality protocols, and effective teamwork.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess surgical instruments and equipment, including cleaning, disassembling, and sterilization.Inspect instruments for proper functioning and detect any damage or defects.Use sterilization methods according to established protocols to ensure the safety of all equipment.Document sterilization procedures and maintain accurate records to meet compliance standards.Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure efficient instrument availability for surgical procedures.Maintain inventory of supplies and report discrepancies as needed.Participate in continuous education and training programs to stay current with industry standards.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; certification in Sterile Processing preferred.Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterilization processes.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.ScheduleThis position requires a day shift schedule of 5 days a week, working 8 hours each day from 08:00 to 16:30.Additional InformationNo block scheduling is utilized in this position.Client Details City Eureka State CA
