Sterile Processing TechThis position is for a Sterile Processing Technician responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and availability of surgical instruments and equipment. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, possess a keen eye for detail, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain a sterile environment by effectively processing, sterilizing, and distributing surgical instruments and supplies.Process an average of 1200 surgical trays daily, ensuring all instruments are accounted for and properly maintained.Pick cases accurately and manage supplies with a strong understanding of surgical procedures.Participate in departmental teaching initiatives, contributing to a learning environment for new staff.Work collaboratively as part of a motivated team focused on quality and excellence in surgical services.Schedule and CommitmentWork schedule: Day shift, 5 days a week (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM).Assignment length: 13 weeks.Weekend shifts are required, and employees may be called off for one shift per two-week period.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing.Certification from either CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA is required.First-time travelers are welcome, provided they have at least 2 years of relevant experience.Ability to float between similar units as needed.Orientation and TrainingInitial orientation lasts 3 days, with the first day scheduled from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.Days 2 and 3 will follow with a schedule from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.On the fourth day, the technician will transition to their contracted shift.Additional InformationThis position is located in a Level II Trauma Center that specializes in various surgical specialties, including Neuro, Orthopedics, robotics, and pediatrics.
