Job description
Instrument Technician - Sterile ProcessingWe are currently seeking an experienced Instrument Technician specializing in Sterile Processing. This position requires a flexible schedule and includes various shifts, including split shifts and evening shifts. The role guarantees 36 hours per week.ResponsibilitiesDecontaminate, inspect, function test, assemble, disinfect, and sterilize instrumentation and equipment according to Manufacturer's Instructions for Use.Perform manual cleaning, disassembly, and robust decontamination processes using multiple steps and various cleaning agents.Prepare instrumentation for use by inspecting, function testing, and packaging for sterilization.Utilize count sheet instructions and Manufacturer Instructions for Use for both instruments and equipment.Demonstrate knowledge of general surgical instruments, specialty instruments, and their respective uses.Ensure proper functioning and sharpness of instruments; identify and replace any damaged or broken items.Package equipment and instruments for sterilization using appropriate methods, including Peel Packs and containers.Operate sterilization equipment, ensuring compliance with sterilization parameters as defined in Manufacturer Instructions for Use.Accurately document all records and logs using computer systems and written forms.Navigate and utilize Sterile Processing computer applications for Decontamination, Processing, and Sterilization.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience in Sterile Processing.Required Certifications: BLS, CRCST or CSPDT Certification through IAHCSMM or CBSPD.Strong understanding of sterilizer operation and quality inspection protocols.Ability to maintain functionality of instruments and collaborate with vendors for repairs and maintenance.Dress CodeScrub Color: Black.
