Sterile Processing Technician IPosition Purpose: The Sterile Processing Technician I is responsible for the cleaning, preparation, sterilization, and storage of instruments used throughout the system. The technician also prepares case carts for the operating room.EducationHigh School Diploma or GED preferred.ExperienceA minimum of 5 years of prior sterile processing experience is required.Licenses/Certification/RegistrationCertification required at hire (CRCST or CSPDT) and must be maintained.Additional QualificationsMust be certified (IASCHM, CBSPD, HSPA).Must have a rating of 3 or above in Robotics experience.Must have worked in a Level II Trauma or similar facility.Work EnvironmentThe Sterile Processing Department (SPD) serves 18 surgical operating rooms, 2 labor and delivery operating rooms, a catheterization lab, and various clinics. The department supports a range of specialties, including robotics, and collaborates with multiple vendors for tray instruments.Job ResponsibilitiesPrimarily working in the decontamination area with occasional responsibilities for assembling trays.This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, supporting essential surgical services. Candidates should be prepared to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization while ensuring the proper functionality of surgical instruments.
