Job description
Summary
The Alterations Specialist produces high-quality alterations to luxury garments within established timeframes. This in-store role combines technical garment expertise with fitting, styling advice, and exceptional client service.
Responsibilities
Fit garments on clients and determine required alterations.
Alter, repair, and construct garments, including hemming, mending, adjusting seams, and completing fine tailoring.
Record alteration requirements and organize client-owned pieces.
Communicate with clients about their needs and provide fitting and styling advice.
Maintain sewing equipment and uphold boutique production and service standards.
Requirements
At least 5 years of related alterations experience preferred, ideally in luxury retail.
Knowledge of fabrics and sewing techniques, including specialty materials and fine tailoring.
Strong attention to detail, communication, teamwork, and client service skills.
Ability to work under time constraints, lift up to 15 pounds, and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
