AMA Certified Medical AssistantSaint Martinville, LA $32,089 - $42,099 a yearFull TimeJoin a dedicated healthcare team in a vibrant regional setting of the Southern United States. This role warmly welcomes patients and visitors, providing professional and courteous assistance both in person and over the phone. You will be responsible for maintaining compliance logs as required by state agencies, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.Key Responsibilities:Gather patient medical histories and measure vital signs such as blood pressure and weight.Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians during these procedures.Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, perform basic lab tests, and draw blood samples.Explain treatment procedures and instruct patients on medication and special diets.Administer medications as directed by physicians and manage prescription refills.Perform electrocardiograms, remove sutures, and change dressings.Handle administrative duties including computer applications, answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, updating medical records, coding insurance forms, arranging hospital admissions and lab services, and managing correspondence and billing.Education: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.Experience: Prior experience in a clinical setting assisting physicians and performing basic laboratory procedures is highly valued.Requirements: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are essential.
