AMC | Certified Medical Assistant - OB/GYNZebulon, NC $37,089 - $46,099 a yearFull TimeOverview:Join a compassionate healthcare team supporting OB/GYN providers by assisting with both clinical and administrative tasks. This role involves patient care under physician supervision, ensuring a smooth and efficient clinic experience.Key Responsibilities:Maintain patient confidentiality, dignity, and comfort throughout care.Accurately document patient interactions and vital signs.Collect and process lab and pathology samples following established protocols.Perform quality and safety checks on testing equipment.Provide patient education as directed by providers.Administer treatments, dressing changes, medications, and therapies under licensed provider orders.Assist providers during procedures and examinations.Prepare and handle reusable instruments for sterilization.Dispose of biohazard and pharmaceutical waste according to OSHA guidelines.Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment following infection prevention standards.Manage supply inventory in designated areas.Support front desk duties including greeting patients and scheduling appointments.Assist with coding and billing input for insurance and quality assurance.Coordinate with external healthcare partners to support patient care plans.Monitor and respond to electronic communications promptly.Perform components of well visits and scheduled nursing visits as directed.Complete all required documentation prior to provider visits.Conduct high-level disinfection procedures as required.Flexibility to float to other clinics as needed.Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required.Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with national certification (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA).Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.Preferred: Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in an outpatient setting.Skills and Abilities:Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening situations promptly.Strong communication skills with patients, staff, and providers both in person and via phone.Physical ability to perform clinical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.Comfortable with potential exposure to blood or infectious materials.
