Job description

We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to design, develop, and support native mobile applications that deliver modern, intuitive user experiences.

This role involves building scalable solutions in a high-volume transactional environment, migrating applications to the cloud, and collaborating with top developers in an Agile setting.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, design, develop, and support native Android applications.

Work on UI frameworks and create rapid prototypes for new features and apps.

Implement automation to streamline development and deployment processes.

Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness.

Establish and maintain Android development best practices and standards.

Collaborate with Agile teams to identify dependencies, tasks, and automation opportunities.

Mentor team members and assist in recruiting and onboarding developers.

Continuously improve development practices by leveraging the latest design patterns and technologies.

Participate in training, Communities of Practice (CoPs), and ongoing learning initiatives.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a full-time software developer.

3+ years of native Android development experience.

Strong proficiency in Java and Kotlin.

Experience with automated testing platforms and test-driven development (TDD).

Familiarity with MVVM and MVP design patterns.

Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and scalable application design principles.

Experience consuming RESTful web services and working with push notifications.

Proficient in Git and CI/CD processes for mobile apps.

Knowledge of Android development standards, Material Design guidelines, and app release processes.

Hands-on experience with Dagger, Retrofit, and RxJava.

Ability to publish apps to Google Play Store.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Google Assistant and Actions on Google.

Exposure to multiple programming languages and frameworks (e.g., React, AWS Lambda, Python, Swift).

Familiarity with event-driven architectures and microservices.

Background in financial services or regulated environments.

Experience in Scaled Agile Framework and DevOps environments.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
