nPosition Summary:
nWe have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Anesthesia Tech II.
nIn this role, the successful candidate Responsible for stocking anesthetic supplies for ORs, maintaining anesthetic equipment, ensuring anesthetic equipment is available and assisting clinicians with patient care.
nJob Responsibilities:
nPatient Care
nnDuring induction, maintenance and emergence from anesthesia
nWith the placement of regional anesthetics and invasive monitoring devices
nWith pain blocks, epidurals, spinals, line placement and patient positioning
nWith transporting patients
nFollows directives and protocols
nCommunicates with circulating nurses
nResponds to Codes in line with duties
n nEquipment
nnCalibrates and runs Quality Control and Quality Assurance analysis
nCalibrates and trouble-shoots anesthesia machines
nSets up Level I RIS, syringe pumps, capnographs, TEG and TEEs
nSets up intravenous, central venous, arterial, pulmonary artery catheters using sterile techniques, percutaneous introducer kits, double lumen kits, triple lumen kits, long arm CVP kits, chest tubes, ARNDT blockers, univent tubes, trans-tracheal intubations, fiberoptic scopes, LMAs, tube changers, jet ventilation and resuscitation bags.
nClears debris and equipment from the surface and drawers of used anesthesia machines.
nEnsures the sterility and cleanliness of all machines
nPerforms all standard procedural checks on equipment
nAssists with trouble shooting technical problems
nMakes minor repairs and adjustments to equipment
nInforms Engineering and supervisor of needed repairs
n nSupplies
nnChecks machine drawers to insure they are well stocked
nMakes available fluids, Lactated Ringers, Plasma Lite, Normal Saline, Hespan, Flextend, FFP, Whole Blood and Albumin
nDisposes of supplies used in regular and contaminated cases
n nGases
nnEnsures medical pipeline is operational, including N2O, O2 and Medical Air
nChecks the status of nitrous oxide, nitrogen and carbon dioxide cylinder banks to determine available supply pressure
nReplaces empty cylinders
n nOther
nnEnsures workroom areas are clean and orderly before, during and after each shift
nPerforms other related duties as requested
n nMinimum Qualifications:
nTo qualify you must have a Graduate of an anesthesia tech program or 2 years of experience supporting anesthesia clinicians with patient care
nFamiliarity with Operating Room drug and equipment terminology required
nMust be able to read, write and follow instructions
nLift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
nBasic computer skills
nPreferred Qualifications:
nASATT Certification preferred
nBachelors Degree
nQualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
