nJob Summary: MaineGeneral Health is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to join our surgical services team. In this role, you will work closely with anesthesia providers and the perioperative team to ensure equipment, supplies, and the patient-care environment are prepared for safe, efficient anesthesia care.

nPosition: Anesthesia Technician
nLocation: Alfond Center for Health, AugustaSchedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)
nShift: Days (8a-5p); Monday-Friday
nThe Role:
nThe Anesthesia Technician plays an essential role in supporting anesthesia personnel before, during, and after procedures. This position prepares and maintains anesthesia equipment and supplies, assists with patient care and procedures, troubleshoots equipment, and maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment.
nWhat You’ll DoAs an Anesthesia Technician, you’ll work closely with our licensed anesthesia providers to ensure patient safety and support. Your responsibilities will include:
nnnEquipment Management: Cleaning and setting up all types of anesthesia equipment.
n
nnPatient Support: Assisting with patient assessment, monitoring, transport, positioning, IV insertion, invasive lines, and airway management.
n
nnMaintenance and Troubleshooting: Providing daily equipment maintenance and addressing malfunctions.
n
nnRoom Turnover: Facilitating efficient and safe room transitions.

n nWhat You Bring
nnnHigh School diploma or GED preferred
n
nnPrevious clinical or healthcare experience preferred; 1 year or more of clinical experience is preferred
n
nnActive status on the State of Maine CNA Registry preferred
n
nnBasic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification is required within 6 months of hire
n
nnKnowledge of sterile technique and infection prevention practices
n
nnBasic analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to calibrate and troubleshoot equipment
n
nnStrong attention to detail and organizational skills
n
nnAbility to work effectively as part of a fast-paced, collaborative perioperative team
n
nnStrong interpersonal and communication skills
n
nnAbility to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing for extended periods, moving equipment, and assisting with patient transport and positioning

nThe hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials.
