nResponsibilities
nUnder direct supervision, is responsible for coordinating and providing technical support to the Anesthesiologists and Nurse Anesthetists. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to ensuring availability of equipment and supplies and assisting with direct patient care activities. Responsible for provision, and technical function of anesthesia machines, ventilators, monitoring equipment, fluid warmers, patient warming systems and other types of anesthesia equipment that may be age specific. Responsible for provision and stocking of supplies for anesthesia administration, cleaning and disinfecting of equipment (such as fiberoptic bronchoscopes), as well as troubleshooting various types of anesthesia equipment.

nCompensation for the role is $28.63 - $35.10 hourly.

nQualifications
nMinimum Education:
nnnHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.
n
nnAssociates Degree from an accredited program in Anesthesiology Technology preferred.
n
n nMinimum Experience:
nnnThree (3) years’ experience as an anesthesia technician required
n
nnOne (1) year experience working within a CTOR/CVOR as an anesthesia technician required.
n
nnTechnical skills necessary to perform duties
n
nnProficiency in all departmental computer systems and data bases.
n
n nRequired Certification/Registration:
nnnBLS required
n
nnCertified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.) by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT) preferred.

n nPhysical Requirements:
nnWork requires extensive standing and walking.
n nWorking Conditions:
nnnEnvironmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works primarily in Operating Rooms and approved satellite areas where anesthesia may be given. Frequent contact with various Medical Center staff, sales representatives, employees and community members. May be exposed to odors, chemical agents, dust, fumes, gases, sharp objects, hazardous or moving equipment, wet slippery floors, and extremes in temperature and humidity. Protective clothing worn: face shield, gloves, impermeable gown, N95 Respirator as needed.

nnPhysical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate point of sales system, computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs and push over 75 lbs. Other physical requirements include the ability to bend, kneel, crouch, twist, balance and reach above, out and below. .

nnMental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends and on-call to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
