Job description
MultiCare Cancer Institute is a physician‑led, multi‑specialty oncology group within MultiCare Health System that serves Washington state and treats more than 6,000 new cancer cases each year.
Position Summary
Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner – outpatient clinic, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This role focuses on managing a patient load of up to 15 patients per day, providing follow‑up care, symptom management and continuity of care within an interprofessional oncology team.
Responsibilities
Provide specialized care for patients undergoing systemic therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted agents.
Assess and manage treatment‑related symptoms and side‑effects.
Coordinate care across disciplines and support patients through education, counseling and survivorship planning.
Order, interpret and follow‑up on diagnostic tests and imaging.
Offer guidance on follow‑up care, medication regimens and lifestyle modifications to support informed decision‑making.
Participate in tumor boards, care conferences and quality improvement initiatives.
Document all patient interactions and clinical decisions in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Maintain current knowledge of oncology best practices, emerging therapies and clinical guidelines through continuing education and training.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nurse‑practitioner program.
Current ARNP certification and licensure in Washington State.
DEA, NPI and prescriptive authority.
Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association.
Benefits
Competitive salary range: $171,000.00 - $181,800.00 USD.
