Job description
Position Overview
This full‑time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner position is located in our well‑established Internal Medicine practice in Battle Creek, Michigan. The applicant will work in the outpatient setting Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., with no weekend or call responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive, problem‑focused histories and physical examinations in the outpatient setting.
Interpret laboratory and radiologic tests and correlate subjective and objective patient data to formulate diagnoses.
Develop treatment plans within scope of practice under physician direction.
Provide clinical management, including coordination with multidisciplinary teams, discharge planning, and quality improvement activities.
Conduct utilization reviews and facilitate timely transfers or discharges based on regulatory and payer criteria.
Maintain accurate documentation for billing, medical care, orders, and progress notes.
Qualifications
Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
Current unrestricted or pending licensure in the state of Michigan.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to providing compassionate, quality, patient‑centered care.
PDH (if applicable) and DEA license to prescribe medications (for PA’s).
Prescriptive authority and collaborative agreement with an overseeing physician.
Capability to utilize standard office software (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation).
