Application Analyst ClerkPosition Title: Application Analyst ClerkReports to: Director of Compliance, Child Nutrition Pay Grade: N09 Terms of 230 days per year. FLSA Classification: Non-ExemptEmployment: At-Will employment agreement.The salary is in pay grade N09 on the Non-Exempt SAISD Compensation Plan. Entry hourly is $18.50 with consideration for directly related experience.Funding This position is locally fundedPosition SummaryResponsible for assisting in the attainment of district goals by ensuring the proper processing of transactions and applications that affects the reporting, compilation, and generation of data relating to the compliance and operational objectives of the Compliance division of the Child Nutrition Services Department.Essential Functions / Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with preparation of meal application packet for parents.Assist with training of meal application data clerks on using application processing softwareWork with Homeless and Migrant liaisons and campus data clerks to identify and code students that qualify for free mealsAssist cafeteria managers, principals and data clerks regarding students with no application on fileManually process applications and submit list of students qualified for Free & Reduced meals to Comptroller of Account and campus manager, as applies.Screen applications for completeness, Direct Certification, Homeless, Migrant or duplicate applications.Scan, validate, and QA all complete applications daily – review daily reporting to ensure all applications are submitted according to the current processes and procedures.Call parents regarding incomplete applications, temporary free approvals, and issues regarding eligibility and chargingAssist individuals that come to the office and answer calls from parents, data clerks, principals, and cafeteria managers regarding paper applications as well as on-line applications.Maintain and assist with operation of office equipment/machines/software(s) as needed.Perform general office procedures including typing, filing, mail, duplication of materials, data processing/entry, editing and general bookkeeping/recordkeeping.Assist with processing department reports, documents, and meal counts as directed by administrator.Maintain general office files: save/store required documents per policy and administrative procedures. Created and maintain spreadsheets to document and track department initiatives.Performs additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.Minimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or regional accrediting agency) or higher; Revised 09/21/2026Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesProficiency by touch with ten-key calculator is requiredAbility to recognize and analyze problemsCommunication skills both oral and writtenAbility to maintain confidentiality and have a high level of integrity regarding department records.Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with administrators, peers, teachers, auxiliary personnel, governmental entities, students and the publicKnowledge of Free and Reduced-Price meal application processing for the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs.Ability to provide expertise and guidance in resolving system problems.Ability to demonstrate the following core values: integrity, high expectations, commitment, respect, dedication to teamwork and passion for a student-centered environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.Basic computer skillsKeep informed of and comply with state, district, and federal policies.Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the jobAbility to work as a member of a team to provide assistance to department staff.Ability to use emerging technology tools and software to include Microsoft suites, Google Suites, Adobe, and various online platforms.Working ConditionsComputer, computer software programs and peripherals, teacher resource materials and equipment, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to position.Frequent exposure to: temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise.
