Job description
Amphenol ( ) is a Fortune 500 Company and one of the largest manufacturers of interconnect products in the world. We design, manufacture and market electrical, electronic and fiber optic connectors, coaxial and flat-ribbon cable, and interconnect systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Translate customer requirements into internal connector design outputs
Develop technical deliverables including datasheets, 3D models, and drawing packages for customer release
Validate datasheet and design outputs through coordination with internal engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to ensure feasibility and compliance
Develop and maintain cost sheets using established templates and accurate inputs
Ensure compliance with existing product standards, libraries, and design rules
Support creation and maintenance of technical documentation for new and existing designs
What You Bring to the Table
Requirements:
Ability to accurately interpret and convert customer requirements into technical outputs
Intermediate to advanced SolidWorks experience (3D modeling, assemblies, and drawing creation)
Strong attention to detail with consistency in technical documentation and cost data
Ability to follow defined engineering processes with minimal deviation
High sense of urgency with ability to execute quickly under tight timelines
Experience in connector design, including mechanical/electrical interface understanding, materials, and manufacturing processes
Background in mechanical engineering or mechanical technologist role with applied product development experience
Aspects of the Position:
Primarily focused on back-end engineering execution and technical documentation development
Close coordination with internal engineering and manufacturing teams for design feasibility validation
Collaborative, team-oriented environment supporting new and existing programs
Works independently within defined scope of responsibility
Deadline-driven with multiple concurrent deliverables and proposal timelines
Requires timely, structured decision-making within established guidelines
