Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThis position is for individuals who are interested in being considered for Appointed Professional opportunities within Shelby County Juvenile Court Office. All required duties will be performed within an assigned area of Juvenile Court.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.Duties and ResponsibilitiesWorks with Microsoft products, including Windows, Outlook, Excel, and Word.Composes general correspondence.Follows up and carries out various duties.Performs other related duties as required.KSA'sAbility to display excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.Ability to deal with the public and co-workers with courtesy and tact.Ability to work in a fast-paced, professional and diverse environment.Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in evaluating situations and making sound decisions.Must be thorough and dependable when performing various job assignments.DisclaimerThis position is subject to a background check for any convictions that have a substantial relationship to potential job duties. This means exemption from this policy is in effect for the following departments and positions: (1) Sheriff Deputy Patrol Officers, Deputy Jailers and Dispatchers, employed by the Sheriff Department, (2) Correction Officers employed by the Division of Corrections, (3) Firefighters, Paramedics and Dispatchers employed by the Shelby County Fire Department. The residency exemption for public safety/civil service employees does not include Appointed positions with Sheriff's Office, Division of Corrections or the Fire Department.
