Job description

Apprentice Cabinet FabricatorThe Apprentice Cabinet Fabricator will learn how to assemble and complete aircraft cabinet components at the expected standards of safety, quality, schedule, and cost, using engineering and industrial definitions, procedures and guidelines that support the delivery to the aircraft for all aircraft models. Promote a positive work environment and display a positive and respectful attitude.Principal Duties/Responsibilities (Essential Functions):Receive training and assist in interpreting CATIA Models, company standards, work instructions, and in performing necessary calculations to complete and install subassembliesReceives training and assists in modifying completed cabinet assemblies and sub-assembliesReceives training and assists in performing checks of fabricated itemsReceive training and assist in selecting and applying proper glues, adhesives, and hardwareReceive training and assist in installing completed cabinet assembly or components using brackets, metal reinforcements, and anglesEmbraces ACE values and help create a work environment aimed at operational excellenceProposes process improvement ideasSelect materials from stock to manufacture parts and maintain traceability of materialsCommunicates and interacts well with co-workers and management Handles finished, plated and painted parts in accordance with company standards and proceduresMaintains a clean and organized work areaWorks in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and company safety proceduresPerforms cleaning of any equipment as neededPerforms all other duties as assignedNon-Principal Duties/Responsibilities (Non-Essential Functions):Other duties as assignedMinimum Required Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentAbility to learn to use measuring tools and devicesAbility to learn to use math and geometry and be able to work in both metric and imperial units of measureAbility to learn the importance of schedules and budgetsAble to lift and transport up to 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodationMust have visual capacity and muscular dexterity to work on fine detail, high cost products with a minimum of errors and reworkMust be able to work with adhesives and chemicalsMust not be allergic to industrial chemicalsBasic computer skillsMust be able to work in confined spaces.Additional Desired Qualifications:Able to solve practical problemsAble to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formWorking Conditions:Typical factory environment. May work in areas with high noise levels and in confined spaces. Will work with company's approved adhesives and chemicals and exposure to cabinet sanding dust.This position is designated as a safety-sensitive position because it includes as part of the essential job duties operating equipment and tools on a routine basis. Additionally, the duties of this position concern the service and completion of aircraft, and overall airworthiness of the aircraft. This position is one in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death. For the safety of this employee and others, the employee must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time while performing safety activities.Compensation and Benefits: The compensation for this position typically falls between $19 and $21 per hour. This position is eligible for overtime. This position may be eligible for a shift differential or relocation assistance. Note, the final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of relevant experience, Falcon-specific experience, relevant education/certifications, geographic location, and shift.
