Apprentice ElectricianWe are currently hiring for Apprentice Electricians with a minimum of one year commercial electrical experience. As an Apprentice Electrician you will work under the guidance of a Journeyman level electrician assisting in the installation, alteration, addition, and/or repair of electrical systems on commercial work sites. We are not hiring entry level electricians at this time.You must hold a minimum of an apprentice electrical license for all field electrical positions.Walker Engineering has a solid reputation in the industry that is based delivering top notch electrical work for a fair and competitive price. We have a presence in every major market in the State of Texas and our customer-first mentality has allowed us to thrive in both good and bad economic times.Duties and Responsibilities:Lays out work and preps materials for installation.Performs underground layout and rough-in.Determines wire and conduit sizing.Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders.Installs BUSS feeders.Performs switchgear installation and terminations.Installs and connects power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints.Troubleshoots and resolves problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment.Operates any hand tools and equipment necessary to perform all associated tasks.Performs other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervisor.Meets attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures.Position Requirements:Requires basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills.Must understand basic electrical theory and its application to installations.Must be able to work occasional overtime as required.Apprentice or Journeyman's License, current Driver's License and must have own reliable transportation.Education Requirements:High School Graduate, GED or equivalent.
