Apprentice - R&D Fabrication TechnicianShift: 1st shift, Monday - Friday; OT required throughout work week - no weekend shiftsBenefits:PTOShut-down pay; 2 weeksHoliday paymedical, dental, vision401kclimate-controlled facility, onsite cafeteria, and all tools/uniforms provided for.Description:Fabrication Weld Technician Responsibilities:Participate in automotive car body prototype developmentAssemble and measure weld fixturePrepare standard operation procedureFabricate and modify car body and components from design data with various fabrication toolsExamine and ensure completed work pieces meet design and test specsParticipate in meetings, projects and activities in support of company and team goalsAccurately and timely accomplishment of work assignedMaintain proficiency in core competencies and ability to learn new skillsMaintain equipment and keep a clean and safe work areaRequirements:High School Diploma or GEDExperience with MIG and TIG welding requiredExperience utilizing basic power tool and hand tool required.Experience with fabrication equipment i.e. breaks, shears, and other metal forming tools preferredAbility to read blueprints, layout specs, and Bill of Materials (BOM) to determine material requirements and task sequencesAbility to use calipers, tape measures, and other standard measuring equipment.Physical ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 poundsCAD experience preferred but not requiredBasic computer skills i.e. Microsoft OfficeBasic math skills and ability to interpret the metric systemAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionPositive manner of performance, team player, proficient written and verbal communications skillsGood attendancePay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
