Physical Therapy Assistant
Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as a Physical Therapy Assistant, supporting licensed Physical Therapists in delivering compassionate and effective patient care. This role involves assisting with therapeutic procedures, patient assessments, and implementing treatment plans to promote recovery and wellness.
Job Summary
As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will contribute to patient care by identifying issues, providing information, and carrying out therapy directives. You will document patient progress, perform manual and non-manual exercises, and assist patients with daily living activities and the use of supportive devices.
Responsibilities
Support Physical Therapists by assessing patient health through interviews and physical examinations.
Administer therapeutic exercises and instruct patients in functional activities.
Develop and implement patient management plans to ensure continuity of care.
Educate and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens and wellness promotion.
Maintain accurate documentation and comply with healthcare standards and regulations.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary meetings.
Stay current with best practices through ongoing education and training.
Education and Experience
Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.
At least one year of experience in a physical therapy setting is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
Current and unrestricted Physical Therapy Assistant license in the applicable state.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 90 days of hire.
Skills and Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills tailored to diverse audiences.
Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and team members.
Proficient in documentation and use of electronic medical records and technology.
Capable of independent judgment, critical thinking, and prioritization.
Work Environment
