nThe Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people's lives. Through the collection and resale of gently used goods we are able to provide the financial support to assist men and women with a variety of social and spiritual afflictions. The in-residence rehabilitation program focuses on basic necessities with every man or woman being provided a clean and healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure time activities, group and individual counseling, and spiritual direction. All our effort is focused on developing life skills and a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. More than just a job, each member of the team contributes to recycling goods that literally recycle and repair broken lives.

nThe Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Sales and Production Associate to work in a production store and be responsible to perform a wide variety of duties in the store and the production area. The Sales and Production Associate will maintain order and create and sustain a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintain customer relationships.

nResponsibilities

nnnAssist in creating a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintain good customer relationships.

n

nnAssist, as required, with store operations.

n

nnServe all customers in a courteous and efficient manner.

n

nnHandle all donations with care and donors with respect and courtesy.

n

nnHandle merchandise as directed, always maintaining proper categories and colorization.

n

nnEnsure that store is sufficiently stocked and “ragged out” in accordance with the “ARC COMMAND RAG OUT CALENDAR.”

n

nnAssist in cleaning and general maintenance of store property.

n

nnImmediately report theft, customer complaints, injuries, and any unsafe equipment or conditions to management.

n

nnMaintain a clean and clutter free work area.

n

nnBe well-versed in and comply with,Guide to Thrift Store & Donation Center Operationsmanual.

n

nnThis position will support the work therapy program component of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers by providing to beneficiaries; an example of professional conduct, work habits, and supervision (as directed by Supervisor).

n

nnOther duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor, Store Supervisor, Assistant Store

n

nnS upervisor, and/or Administrator.

n

nnCashier/Sales Floor

n

nnComply with all cash handling and security standards as relates to cash register operations, daily sales reports and bank deposits.

n

nnSort, price, stock and “rag out” showcase merchandise and other areas as directed.

n

nnRestock fitting room merchandise back to racks in proper category and color code

n

nnMaintain merchandise displays as directed.

n

nnAnswer telephone calls in an efficient, friendly, professional manne

n

nnS orter

n

nnSort minimum of 300 store quality garments an hour by department.

n

nnAssist moving the donations to the sorting table as needed.

n

nnAssist with hanging merchandise as needed.

n

nnAssist running clothing racks as needed.

n

nnHanger/Tagger

n

nnHang and ticket a minimum of 225 pieces per hour of clothing on rolling racks from sorting table by department on the correct hanger type, and by category in an 8 hour period.

n

nnAssist moving the donations to the sorting table as needed.

n

nnAssist sorting clothing as needed.

n

nnAssist running clothing racks as needed.

n

nnPr i cer

n

nnPrice a minimum of 250 garments an hour using a wide range of prices determined by the style, quality and condition of each piece.

n

nnAcquire and maintain knowledge of name brand merchandise and value.

n

nnAssist moving the donations to the sorting table as needed.

n

nnAssist ticketing merchandise as needed.

n

nnAssist with running clothing racks as needed.

n

nnRunner

n

nnPlace a minimum of 225 garments an hour from the production room to the sales floor on the proper rack by department, category and color order.

n

nnStraighten and maintain the clothing racks of the departments as assigned.

n

nnRag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.

n

nnAssist hanging merchandise as needed.

n

nnBric a Brac

n

nnSort and clean all saleable miscellaneous merchandise donations daily.

n

nnTicket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item.

n

nnPlace and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner.

n

nnRag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.

n

nnS hoes/Accessories

n

nnSort and clean all saleable shoes, handbags and accessory donations daily.

n

nnTicket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item.

n

nnProcess to the store a minimum of 25 pieces/sets per hour maintaining all merchandise in the required order and manner.

n

nnRag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.

n

nnDomestics

n

nnSort and measure all saleable linen items daily as required

n

nnTicket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item.

n

nnProcess to the store a minimum of 25 pieces/sets per hour maintaining all merchandise in the required order and manner.

n

nnRag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.

n

nnBooks/Records/Toys

n

nnSort and clean all saleable merchandise daily as required.

n

nnTicket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item in accordance with established policies.

n

nnPlace and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner.

n

nnRag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial Rag Out Calendar.

n

nnFurniture/Electrical

n

nnSort, clean and test all electrical and furniture donations as required.

n

nnTicket all electrical merchandise using “sold as is” tickets and assign an individual fair market price for each item.

n

nnComplete furniture tickets and record required information assigning a fair market price for each furniture item.

n

nnPlace and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner.

n

nnMark down furniture items on sales floor in accordance with policy.

n

nnRag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.

n

nnDonations/Maintenance

n

nnMaintain the cleanliness of the sales floor, bathrooms, entry, windows, sidewalks and parking areas daily.

n

nnAccept donations in accordance with standard policies while providing courteous, respectful service to the donor

n

nnAble to lift 100 pounds.

n

nnReceive and receipt, as per policy, all donated material in a courteous and efficient manner. Maintain cleanliness of all donation facilities.

n

nnSafeguard all donated materials and assigned equipment.

n

nnEnsure a constant flow of donations to the sorting table throughout the day.

n

nnAssist with ragging out the sales floor as assigned.

n

nnBale ragouts and trash as required.

n

nnPerform lawn and garden work as needed.

n

n nQualifications

nnnAbility to speak and understand English for effective communication with supervisors, employees, beneficiaries, and customers.

n

nnExcellent customer service skills.

n

nnAbility to understand and follow directions.

n

nnAbility to stand for long periods of time.

n

nnAbility to lift 50 pounds.
