ARDMORE ELEMENTARY- LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE
SPEECH & LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST (October, 2026 – December, 2027)
Certification Requirements & Qualifications
Must meet all State certification requirements in the selected area
Experience with or the ability to implement components of co-teaching within the context of effective instruction and positive behavior management support
Experience working with students to support learning
Ability to successfully pass a background check
Required Skills
Ability to work cooperatively with students, parents, and colleagues
Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing
Good organizational and problem solving skills
Self-directedness and initiative when given a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
Possess physical abilities sufficient to employ physical intervention strategies when necessary, i.e. non-violent crisis intervention techniques
Knowledge of special education laws, rules and regulations.
Ability to conduct MET and IEP team meetings that are parent friendly and legally compliant.
Knowledge of speech/language development and pathology necessary to identify communication disorders and to develop appropriate programs and services for speech and language impaired students.
Ability to provide evidence-based research to support recommendations
Ability to work and effectively communicate with administrators, staff, agencies, medical provider, students and their families.
Effective time management skills, self-directedness and initiative when given a variety of responsibilities and assigned tasks.
Ability to make decisions and problem solve within a team of service providers.
Have knowledge and/or experience with the MTSS process.
Enthusiastic and takes initiative
Responsibilities
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Candidate will be required to register with EDUSTAFF STAFFING SERVICES.
