Job description
Armed Public Safety OfficerJoin a dedicated team committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest. As an Armed Public Safety Officer, you will conduct routine surveillance of healthcare properties, including foot and vehicle patrols, ensuring the protection of all individuals on the premises.Key Responsibilities:Perform regular patrols of grounds and buildings to deter and respond to security threats.Maintain accurate and timely documentation of daily activities, incident reports, and shift logs.Respond professionally to calls for service, managing potentially volatile situations with de-escalation techniques.Communicate effectively with management and staff regarding safety concerns and emergency situations.Assist with parking enforcement and other duties as assigned to support facility operations.Education:High School Diploma or GED required.Graduation from a Law Enforcement Academy is mandatory.Experience:At least 1 year of road patrol experience or 4 years in law enforcement detention.Certifications and Licenses:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.Must be a commissioned law enforcement officer in good standing or have held a valid commission within the past three years, with the ability to obtain commission within 90 days of employment.Valid driver's license required.Mental and Physical Requirements:Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and interpret safety policies.Capable of standing for extended periods and walking or running long distances.Safe operation of patrol vehicles is essential.Working Conditions:Exposure to various environmental conditions including heat, cold, noise, and potential infectious materials.Interaction with patients, visitors, and staff, including potentially aggressive individuals.This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a supportive and secure healthcare environment in a vibrant regional community of the Midwest.
