Job description
ASCP Certified Medical Assistant (MA)Join a dedicated healthcare team providing compassionate clinical support in a busy practice setting within the Midwest region. This role focuses on assisting with patient care management and ensuring smooth healthcare delivery throughout each patient visit.Key Responsibilities:Deliver direct and delegated patient care, recognizing normal and abnormal health indicators to identify at-risk clients.Provide reassurance, accurate education, and clear instructions to patients, responding promptly to telephone triage.Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints, while maintaining accurate and updated medical records.Communicate abnormal patient findings to physicians and document accordingly.Assist physicians with testing, treatments, minor surgeries, and physical exams, including applying splints, dressings, and managing sample medications.Coordinate patient testing, referrals, and follow-up on test results, ensuring proper consents are obtained for invasive procedures and immunizations.Perform laboratory tests and maintain lab logs as prescribed.Maintain clinical areas by stocking supplies, organizing patient education materials, and ensuring cleanliness and sterilization of instruments and equipment.Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.Alternatively, a minimum of five years of relevant clinical experience in a medical practice.This full-time position operates primarily during the first shift, offering a supportive environment to grow your clinical skills while making a meaningful impact on patient care in a regional healthcare setting.
