ASCP Certified Phlebotomist - Full Time DaysLynd, MN $34,499 - $46,099 a yearJob Type: Full TimeJob Summary: Provide essential support to inpatients, outpatients, external facilities, and healthcare providers by accurately and courteously collecting laboratory specimens and performing related duties with professionalism and competence. Responsibilities include drawing blood samples, properly labeling specimens, and preparing them for testing.Key Responsibilities:Deliver excellent customer service to patients, providers, and departments, embodying organizational values.Adapt positively to schedule changes, workflow adjustments, and new initiatives.Accurately identify patients using two identifiers, collect correct specimens and volumes, and label samples appropriately in the patient's presence.Perform venous and capillary blood collections independently for patients of all ages, adhering to safety protocols and timelines.Utilize hospital information systems for patient identification, registration, order entry, and sample tracking; resolve discrepancies as needed.Manage supplies efficiently, support ordering and restocking efforts.Work effectively within workflow demands and suggest improvements to enhance patient experience.Maintain a safe, clean work environment and properly dispose of biohazardous materials.Comply with all laboratory and hospital policies, as well as regulatory guidelines.Respond professionally and supportively to patient concerns, assisting with problem resolution.Handle phone communications professionally, directing calls appropriately.Collaborate with laboratory staff, providers, patients, and other departments to meet patient needs.Demonstrate and continuously develop functional and technical skills relevant to the role.Support training of new employees and perform other duties as assigned.Education and Experience Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent required.Phlebotomy certification preferred.Prior patient experience preferred but not required.Work Shift: First shift, full-time (approximately 37.5 hours per week).This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
