ASCP Certified Phlebotomist
Longbranch, WA $46,619 - $65,009 a year
Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region, where you will play a vital role in patient care by collecting blood, urine, and swab specimens for clinical analysis and diagnostic purposes. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in various settings including outpatient, emergency, and inpatient environments.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Welcome patients and provide clear instructions on specimen collection procedures.
Perform blood draws using venipuncture, finger stick, or heel stick techniques.
Collect throat and nasal specimens accurately and efficiently.
Process specimens for laboratory technicians or prepare them for reference lab submission.
Conduct CLIA waived testing and select non-CLIA waived tests.
Collect and process drug screens for pre-employment and post-accident scenarios.
Manage phone inquiries and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
Assist with inventory management and maintain laboratory supply stock.
Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Preferred: At least six months of phlebotomy experience in a patient care setting.
Preferred: Six months of sample processing and CLIA waived testing experience.
Licenses and Certifications
Must obtain a current state Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist license within 90 days of hire.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 90 days of hire.
Skills and Abilities
Intermediate knowledge of laboratory processes and testing procedures.
Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
Familiarity with medical terminology.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
Flexibility to work variable shifts as needed.
