This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working as part of a paving crew and operating asphalt compaction and heavy equipment. The successful candidate takes pride in their work, follows safety procedures, and is willing to help wherever needed to complete each project successfully.ResponsibilitiesAssist crew members in the completion of work as required.Assist with the distribution and leveling of asphalt during paving operations.Distribute hot-mix asphalt onto prepared surfaces using lutes, shovels, and other hand tools.Operate various pieces of compaction equipment during the breakdown and/or finish rolling processes of asphalt paving.Perform general maintenance, inspections, and basic care of assigned equipment.Help ensure proper asphalt distribution, leveling, compaction, and overall quality throughout paving operations.Maintain a professional and courteous attitude toward co-workers, customers, and the public.Follow all company safety requirements, policies, and procedures.Perform other duties as needed to support the paving crew and complete projects successfully.Qualifications & SkillsValid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred.Minimum of 2 years of experience in asphalt paving operations.Experience operating asphalt compaction equipment and heavy equipment preferred.Ideal candidates will have 5 or more years of experience operating asphalt compaction and heavy equipment.Strong understanding of safe equipment operation and asphalt paving practices.Ability to work effectively as part of a team.Willingness to work occasional weekends and unexpectedly longer hours when necessary.Strong work ethic and commitment to quality and safety.Benefits$500 sign-on bonus after 30 days of employment401(k) with company matchHealth insurance, including dental and visionPaid referral programByrne & Jones Construction is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer committed to maintaining a drug-free workplace.
