Job description
Asphalt QC / QA (Experienced and Certified)C.R. Jackson is seeking an experienced and SCDOT certified QC/QA Technician to support our asphalt operations by ensuring materials and processes meet all project specifications and SCDOT standards. This role is critical to maintaining the quality, safety, and performance of our work across multiple job sites and plant operations.We are looking for a knowledgeable, detail-oriented professional who takes pride in producing high-quality work and is ready to contribute immediately.What You'll DoPerform quality control testing on asphalt materials (plant and field)Conduct sampling and testing in accordance with SCDOT specificationsMonitor plant production and field placement for complianceMaintain accurate records of test results and daily reportsCommunicate results and adjustments with plant operators, crews, and supervisorsIdentify and troubleshoot mix or compaction issues in real timeEnsure all testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintainedSupport continuous improvement in quality processes and proceduresWhat We're Looking ForRequired Certifications (at least one):SCDOT Roadways CertificationSCDOT HMA Level 1 Technician (or higher)Additional certifications strongly preferredA minimum of 1 year proven experience in asphalt QC/QA (plant and/or field)Strong understanding of asphalt mix design and production processesAbility to interpret specifications and apply them in real-world conditionsSolid math and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and teamwork mindsetReliable, safety-focused, and detail-orientedApplicants from the Columbia area preferredWillingness to work weekends, nights, or overtime, if requiredBenefitsHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid holidays and vacationSupportive team and opportunities for advancementCompensationPay is competitive and based on experience and certificationsHigher pay tiers available for advanced certifications and proven expertiseWhy Join C.R.
