Job description

Assembler - Valves 2nd Shift TEMPThe Assembler - Valves 2nd Shift TEMP (2:00pm - 10:30pm) works under close supervision performing assigned assembly processes to manufacture Crane Aerospace & Electronics products in accordance with military standards, Food and Drug Administration standards, and/or other assembly standards using visual aids, verbal and/or written instructions. Please note this is a 2nd shift position from 2:00pm - 10:30pm. Second shift openings are eligible for a 10% shift differential.Essential Functions:Perform assigned assembly tasks subassemblies, or completed assembliesPrepare components prior to assembly, clean components, mark, and inspect componentsTest finished assembliesOperate assigned equipment and machinery (i.e.-Die Attach Machine, Wire Bonder, X-Ray machines)Observe proper health and safety procedures in handling hazardous chemicalsIdentify and report to lead or supervisor any difficulty which would affect the correctness and quality of the work in processParticipate in cleaning of area and machinery and take part in team meetings for improvementPractice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policyCross-train to work on at least one process within the cellComplete job-related company training coursesSupport Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, Standard Work, and other initiatives as they ariseFlexible and willing to work overtime if necessaryAny other task assigned by supervisor or managementOperation of a Microscope (Can be up to 8 hours a day)Non-Essential Functions:Understand and/or participate with internal/external auditsMay be required to repair/rework defective or returned assembliesMinimum Qualifications:Experience: 1-5+ years of Small Component Assembly experience in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods knowledgeSkills: Strong verbal and written communication; Proficiency in reading comprehension (understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents) of the English language; Basic computer skills (understanding of basic software)Abilities: Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception and other vision capabilities required; Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity; Adept hand eye coordination and arm-hand steadinessAbility to thoroughly interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagramsAbility to work well in a moderate to high paced work environment in a high-volume settingEducation/Certification: High School diploma or equivalentPreferred Qualifications:IPC Soldering CertificationEligibility Requirement:This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).Working Conditions:Working conditions could include a Class 7 or 8 Cleanroom, or general manufacturing environmentUp to 8 hours of Microscope work dailyManufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPEMay be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumesStanding: 25% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work taskSitting: 75% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work taskLifting (in pounds): up to 40 poundsPushing (in pounds): up to 40 poundsMental/Visual: use of soldering equipment, microscopes/magnifying glassesWorkspace: assembly cellTop Benefits:Benefits: Health care, dental, vision, life and disability insurance starting the first day of the month following your start date.Time Off: 15 days of paid time off that start accruing your first day at Crane plus 12 paid holidays per year.401k Retirement Plan: 401k plan with company match.Education Reimbursement: eligible after 6 months of employment.
