AssemblerStandardized Job Description — All FacilitiesPosition Type: Non-ExemptReports to (Position Title): Production SupervisorResponsibilitiesLearn and execute elements of safe assembly practices involving 2?–36? assembly, to include OGS as well as AGSPerform in-process inspections including dimensional, orientation, and part; perform additional inspections pertaining to product specification if neededMaintain records of inspections and results, if applicable. Verify finished products meet or exceed customer standardsVerify tools are in safe working condition and that calibration is up to dateProperly maintain and care for all assigned equipmentKnow and understand how to properly navigate Medix per job/spoolComplete all daily checklists and TPMsEnsure all area 5S duties are completedCommunicate and interact with Line Leads, shift supervisors, the operations manager, and engineering on issues or discrepancies found between drawings/model and BOMParticipate in team meetings and continuous improvement initiativesPerform bundling functions on assembled parts as requiredQualifications (Education, Experience, Skills, Personal Attributes)High School DiplomaExperience in a manufacturing/assembly environment is preferredComputer literacy of Microsoft Windows software is preferredFamiliarity with SWI/SOP processesGood understanding of shop math (fraction to decimal) and ability to read a tape measure and measuring tools (caliper, micrometer, vernier scale) requiredAbility to read and interpret drawings and blueprints desiredGood written and oral communication skills requiredGood problem-solving capabilities desiredMust be able to work independently and efficiently, and be self-motivated and detail orientedOnce signed off by the Line Lead/Trainer, independent assembly can take place.Consolidated from facility-level Assembler I job descriptions for consistent use across all Victaulic branch locations.
