Job description

AssemblerThe Assembler plays a key role in building high-quality electrification products by accurately assembling components into finished structures according to specifications, blueprints, and work orders. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read and interpret technical documentation, and a commitment to working safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Assembler will contribute to a growing organization by supporting production, ensuring product quality, and actively participating in continuous improvement efforts.ResponsibilitiesAssemble various components into finished products according to specifications, blueprints, diagrams, and work orders.Follow all company safety protocols and procedures, including consistently wearing required safety shoes, safety glasses, and ear protection.Use hand tools, power tools, and torque wrenches safely and correctly to assemble components to the required specifications.Read and interpret diagrams, schematics, drawings, front views, bills of materials, and blueprints to ensure accurate assembly.Ensure the quality of structures by verifying that products are level, square, and assembled according to design requirements.Inspect components such as corner posts, roofs, covers, and other structural elements for damage, including dents and scratches, prior to and after assembly.Assemble copper bussing according to design specifications and verify correct spacing between phases and ground.Perform visual inspections of materials and assemblies before and after production, identify nonconforming parts, and troubleshoot errors.Utilize various hand tools to accurately install materials by closely following established procedures and work instructions.Assemble switchboards, panelboards, and related products using oral or written instructions, and proactively identify missing components.Communicate job progress, issues, and part shortages to leads or supervisors in a clear and timely manner.Identify opportunities for process improvement and participate in root cause analysis when quality or production issues arise.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, ensuring tools and materials are stored properly.Work collaboratively with team members and leads to meet production goals and support cross-training as needed.Use computer systems and CAD software to open and follow structural designs and related manufacturing information.Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and operational needs.Essential SkillsProven experience working as an Assembler in a manufacturing environment.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, bills of materials, and manufacturing drawings.Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and torque wrenches for assembly work.Clear understanding of manufacturing information such as front views, bills of materials, drawings, blueprints, and order entry systems.Ability to assemble switchboards, panelboards, and similar products using oral or written instructions.Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work with concentration, accuracy, and precision.Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.Ability to identify nonconforming parts, perform visual inspections, and troubleshoot assembly errors.Ability to problem-solve and proactively identify missing components or issues in the assembly process.Proficiency with computers and familiarity with CAD software to open and follow structural designs.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that require standing or walking for extended periods.Ability to multi-task, establish work priorities, and manage time efficiently.High school diploma or equivalent.Familiarity with assembly tools and standard manufacturing techniques.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with production targets.Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain a tidy work area.Experience with ERP systems and inventory control processes.Understanding of manufacturing processes and good manufacturing practices (GMP).Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team setting.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including participation in root cause analysis.Interest in learning new skills and taking on additional responsibilities as the company grows.Why Work Here?Join a high-growth manufacturing business that is building the future of electrification for critical infrastructure. This is a chance to join early in an exciting new chapter and help shape processes, improvements, and the future direction of the operation.Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a brand-new manufacturing facility designed to support a growing workforce of approximately 200-250 people at full capacity. The work schedule runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The environment is a manufacturing floor with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures, requiring comfort working around production equipment and industrial processes. Team members stand or walk for long periods and may lift between 25 and 50 lbs as part of daily tasks. Safety is a top priority, with steel-toed boots required and safety glasses provided. Employees must wear long pants made of thicker material (no leggings) and long sleeves or cut-resistant sleeves, which the company helps supply, to ensure proper protection. New hires receive a full week of training before being assigned to their production team, with a structure that typically includes five producers to one lead, ensuring close support, ongoing coaching, and significant hands-on development in the role.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, MD.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
