Great work ethic, technical mindset, apply today!Job Title: Mechanical Assembly TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Mechanical Assembly Technician will be responsible for assembling and testing optical systems according to delivery schedules. This role involves working with multi-element lens and mirror systems, integrating opto-mechanical assemblies with electronics, and performing optical and mechanical tests and evaluations.ResponsibilitiesAssemble and align multi-element lens and mirror systems and sub-assemblies.Integrate opto-mechanical assemblies with electronics.Perform optical and mechanical test and evaluation.Assist with inspection of incoming optical, mechanical, and electronic components.Essential SkillsProficiency in using hand tools and reading blueprints.Experience in mechanical assembly and optical inspection.Understanding of electronic components and electrical assembly.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of proper handling of precision optics, mirrors, lenses, and filters.High degree of precision, fine motor skills, and patience.Ability to use a microscope.Capability to read complex assembly drawings, diagrams, and instructions.Why Work Here?Join a dynamic small team environment within a company that is in the early stages of growth, offering opportunities for personal and professional development. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Herndon, VA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
