The position follows standard production methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.Positions include:Frame, layout and build floorsPrepare, layout and build wallsLayout, run and install electrical lines, switches, receptacles and panels/breaker boxesInstall and prepare dry for finish tape, mud and textureComplete roof construction, decking, flashing and shinglingCabinet and or finish carpentry and trim, build and installationInstallation of siding, windows and doorsPainting of interior and exterior of homesCooperate and promote a team concept with all other company employees. Adhere to all rules and regulations, at all times. Meet or exceed company safety standards. Perform other tasks as assigned by management.Essential duties and responsibilities include:Practice safe work habits to ensure production is efficient and safe while observing all relevant OSHA regulations.Work in a team environment to produce products that conform to our quality standards while achieving our productivity objectives.Serve as a good steward of our company's physical assets, protecting them from damage and misuse, reporting all needed maintenance, keeping assigned areas clean and orderly.Assist Supervisors and Forepersons to plan and organize the manufacturing activities in your area by communicating anticipated material shortages, identifying required tool maintenance, and communicating any quality and productivity issues.Perform other duties assigned.Supervisory responsibilities:This job has no supervisory responsibilities.Minimum requirements to perform this job successfully include:High School diploma or GED preferredConstruction or Warehouse Experience a plus, but not requiredVersatility and willingness to transfer into various departments when necessary.Ability to read architectural and engineering drawings greatly desired.Skilled in the operation and control of hand tools (tape measure, hammer, utility knife, etc.)Flexible to work in a fast paced, changing environmentMust be 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United StatesMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug screenCompetencies:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.Ability to write simple correspondence.Verbal expression ability to effectively present information, in both individual and small group situations.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to read tape measure.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Overtime work is involved.Work environment / physical activity:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.The employee is continuously required to walk.The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.The employee must continuously lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously exposed to moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to airborne particles.The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration.The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.Will be required to wear ear plugs for noise protection as well as eye protection and other personal protective equipment required by the location.At BFS, we want you and your career to be greater than what you ever could have expected.
