Job description

Assembler IThe Assembler I sits within the CMI business unit in Pomona, California. Under general supervision, this role sets up and adjusts equipment used to support manufacturing, and performs routine technical troubleshooting. The work is highly detailed, hands-on, and documentation-heavy in a regulated quality-system environment.Day-to-Day Reality (what the recruiter should screen for)Operates a Masterflex pump — sets it up and dials in fill volumes against a written guideline.Filling and packaging of reagents with basic GMP knowledge. Heavy paperwork — most documentation is printed and hand-written, not digital.Basic math required for fill volumes and counts.On feet all day, rotating through tasks.Lifting up to 15 lbs maximum.ResponsibilitiesComplete set-up operations for assembly, packaging, or prep in compliance with approved documentation and QSR — including line clearance, equipment preventative maintenance, and housekeeping. Perform routine tasks working from detailed written or verbal instructions. Assemble, repair, inspect, and test products following written instructions. Assist Engineering and Maintenance teams with troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of equipment. Complete and maintain accuracy of documentation associated with manufactured product and equipment maintenance. Clean, perform, and document routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs. Dispose of hazardous waste material in the corresponding hazardous waste areas. Support continuous improvement activities (5S, OEE, etc.). Support new equipment installation and validation. Assist with problem-solving related to product quality. Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions under Supervisor/Manager guidance. Collaborate with Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, QC Technicians, and Management to identify and implement process improvements. Work on semi-routine assignments requiring judgment to resolve problems and make routine recommendations. Understand quality consequences of improper job performance and awareness of potential device defects across design, verification/validation, manufacturing, and testing. Exhibit professional behavior with internal and external business associates, consistent with company policies and practices. Carry out duties in compliance with established business policies. Other duties as assigned, according to the changing needs of the business.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED. 2–5 years of related experience in assembling, filling, and packaging reagents. Basic verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills; minimal Excel. Able to read and comprehend work orders and basic written instructions. Comfortable performing the job within a quality system environment. No blueprint reading required.Preferred Qualifications3 years' experience in medical device manufacturing; pharma background ideal. Food-manufacturing environment experience is also acceptable. MS Office Suite experience. Knowledge of FDA, ISO, and OSHA regulations. Basic understanding of manufacturing systems — documentation, compliance, inventory control, production scheduling/controls.
