Job description
AssemblerThe Assembler is responsible for building and assembling generator set units, enclosures and related components in a shop environment. This role works directly with production, engineering, and operations to assemble quality products safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and comfortable working with tools, drawings, and physical tasks.Basic DutiesAssemble generator set packages, enclosures and packaged components using hand tools, shop equipment, and material-handling devices.Perform basic electrical and mechanical assembly work per drawings and work instructions.Read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly documentation.Work closely with production supervisors to meet build schedules and quality expectations.Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all safety requirements.Support general shop and warehouse tasks as neededQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAbility to read and understand engineering or shop drawings preferredPrior experience using hand tools and common shop tools requiredMechanically inclined with a willingness to learn new skillsDependable, productive, and able to work effectively as part of a teamStrong communication and basic interpersonal skillsMust provide personal hand toolsAbility to lift up to 75 lbs and regularly climb ladders and stairsValid driver's license required (motor vehicle report required for final candidate)Altorfer Inc. offers an industry leading compensation and benefit package:Health, Dental, Vision, Disability, and Life Insurance401(k) and Additional 401(k) ContributionPaid HolidaysPaid Parental Leave and Funeral LeaveVacation: 40 hours of vacation after 1 year of full-time employmentSick: 40 hours of sick after 1 year of full-time employmentEducation AssistancePersonal Tool Insurance, and Safety Equipment ReimbursementVoluntary Benefits: Accident, Critical and Hospital Indemnity Insurance, Legal Assistance and Identity & Fraud ProtectionPayrate: $23.25 - $37.54 per hourPhysical Requirements/Working ConditionsThis position works in a shop environment with some outside exposure. May on a continuous basis walk, bend and lift up to 75lbs. The wearing of approved safety equipment (i.e. safety glasses with side shields and steel toe footwear) is required. Noise level is usually moderate to high. May intermittently sit at a desk to answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through email.
