AssemblerLocation: San Luis Obispo, CA, US, 93401 Business Unit: Sensor, Test & CalibrationSUMMARY: Performs simple repetitive mechanical or electro-mechanical sub-assembly work. Direction provided by verbal instructions or established assembly procedures. Requires simple adjusting and fitting of pre-finished parts. Tolerances are usually liberal. Uses simple hand tools.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following:Performs assembly operations either by wire bonding, soldering, spot welding, staking, or epoxying.Performs assembly under a microscope.Hand solders pins, cables, components, sub-assemblies, and completed units.Operates ultrasonic welding apparatus.Attaches various I.C.s, transistors, resistors, or thermistors to P.C. boards.Performs oil fill operations.Conducts tests for some final units.Performs life testing programs utilizing a computer.Provides training or instruction to co-workers and other employees when needed.May operate turning-center-assisted tig welding to specific programs established by Manufacturing Engineering.Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.May rotate to other workstations in the unit.Meets or exceeds department's targets set by supervisor / managersPerforms other duties as requested, directed or assigned.ESSENTIAL SKILLS:2+ years' experienceAbility to perform multiple tasks at the same time.Ability to follow workplace safety standards and company policies and procedures.Ability to work in a team setting and contribute to building a positive team spirit.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to organize and prioritize meeting deadlines.Soldering experience (or Certificate) Preferred.Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with small parts.Work is typically performed at a bench and may include walking or standing some of the timeBasic computer skills.EDUCATION: Minimum high school diploma or general education degree GED.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with small parts. Work is typically performed at a variety of locations within the department (which includes walking or standing). When required, must be able to lift a minimum of 5 lbs and up to 50 lbs.Specific vision abilities required by this job include but are not limited to: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Compensation: Employee Type: Hourly Currency: USD Salary Minimum: 40,000 Salary Maximum: 50,000 Incentive: No
