Our commitment to injecting radical re-thinking about what is possible is backed by generational wealth with a history of making long-haul investments.Summary: The machine assembler compiles sub-components and completes machines according to verbal, written and blueprint specifications by performing the following duties and others as assigned. Lummus Group offers competitive compensation and benefits including medical and dental insurance, 401(k), vacation and a caring, team-oriented work environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Understands then utilizes blueprints and shop packet instructions; interprets when required.Constructs the assemblies and sub-assemblies of product line and assists in specialized production.Verifies component orientation, fit, alignment, and freedom of movement before completing assemblies.Uses chain hoist, hand tools: air, electrical and manual, bench tools: grinder, drill press, etc., and measuring instruments to assemble machines.Builds component parts, stacking and training gin saws, building saw and brush cylinders.Operates dynamic balancing machine on variety of products.Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize assembly defects or deviations from specifications.Checks torques and clearances during assembly process.Inspects each part to verify quality and operability at completion.Willingness to learn new equipment, assembly methods, and product designs.Confers with others to resolve assembly problems.Reports labor accurately each day.Assists less experienced assembly personnel.Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.Other duties as assigned.Requirements:Comprehend and complete work using written, verbal or blueprint instructionsDemonstrated mechanical aptitude and understanding of how mechanical components work togetherAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situationsAptitude to read and comprehend a tape measureDemonstrates a high level of reliability and punctualityRegularly stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and armsFrequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlOccasionally required to sit and climb or balanceLift/Move up to 50lbs
