Assembly Laborer - Wall InstallAvalon and Tahoe - Alma, MI 48901OverviewSalary Range $16.50 Hourly Level Entry Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Education Level High School Travel Percentage None Category ManufacturingDescriptionJob Summary: The wall fabrication laborer fabricates finished walls to support the assembly line. This is done by installing wall skins on completed wall frames, and bending them if required. Each wall is built for a specific boat. The finished walls are then placed in the staging area, ready to be installed on the boat.Key Responsibilities:Adheres to all safety policies and proceduresFollows all pre-established installation and quality methods, procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency of workReads order-specific job travelers and/or engineered drawings to ensure each order is produced to specificationsUses various hand tools, bending machine, and rolling machine to fabricate wall and door sectionsCompletes all job duties within given time constraintsPerforms other duties as assignedCross-trains between several different jobsCleans and maintains work areaPursues continuous improvement to improve efficiency of job duties and work flowQualificationsJob Requirements:High school diploma or GEDAttention to detailExcellent problem solving skillsGood verbal and written communication skillsNeeds good visual judgment to notice errors and/or defectsAbility to accurately read a tape measureAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to work in a fast paced, multifunctional team oriented work environmentAbility to work variable hours with short notice (up to 50+ hrs. per week)Physical Requirements and EnvironmentMust be physically capable of safely lifting a minimum of 40 lbs. without assistanceRequires pushing material carts that weigh up to 200 lbs.Involves standing, squatting, bending, and lifting for long periods as requiredRequires repetitive movement and extensive use of handsIncludes exposure to noise levels that are distracting and/or uncomfortableRequires wearing personal protective equipmentRequires visual acuity for accurate graphics installation
