Our dynamic and inclusive culture fosters personal and professional growth, making us an ideal employer for career advancement.Position Overview:The Assembly & Packaging Packer is responsible for properly assembling, preparing, and boxing a variety of plastic products, including tubs, totes, and waste containers.Essential Functions:Imprint and/or assemble the product as the order specifiesMonitor the production process and notify the coordinator of any non-conformitiesPerform all documentation and product control functions as instructedMaintain a clean and safe workstationRemove all components from the workstation area that are not related to the current work order being processedWear the required PPE (safety)Perform special projects and/or duties as assignedAssist in the training of new employeesWork additional hours or days when necessaryComplete the training programUse the work center design to correctly pack the appropriate number of componentsAffix the orange tag to each stack of carts identifying the work order number, date, packer, and customerAssist in the first piece inspection process when necessaryAnswer phoneOther duties or assignments as directedEducation and Experience:Three months of previous experience in a manufacturing environmentPrior injection molding experience helpfulKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Ability to pay close attention to detailAbility to maintain a work pace equal to the machine cyclePhysical Requirements and Work Environment:Work is performed in a manufacturing environment where there is exposure to noise and moving mechanical partsAbility to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle and/or feel objects, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, talk, see and hearAbility to push, pull, lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 50 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequentlyAbility to roll up to 450 lbs.Schaefer Plastics is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
